Burek is a classic Balkan savory pie made with thin layers of dough and a rich meat filling. Crispy on the outside and juicy inside, it is one of the most popular street foods across the region.

Instructions

Preparing the filling
In a bowl, combine ground meat, onion, salt, pepper, paprika, and oil, then mix well.

Layering the pastry
Lightly oil a baking tray. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough, brush with oil, then repeat layering several sheets. Spread part of the filling evenly, then continue layering dough and filling. Finish with several layers of dough on top, brushing each with oil.

Baking and serving
Score the top lightly and bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius until golden and crispy. Let it rest briefly before cutting and serving.
